Jokaibon | Soldier Beetle | Athemus suturellus

jokaibon

Jokaibon is a ubiquitous insect, but I have only encountered it once. But only one time is enough to fall in love with it.
This bug is both cute and cool. The tips of their toes look like they are wearing socks, which is very cute.

In Japan, it is called by the same name as a famous historical general, but the detailed reason is not known.
However, I find it a miracle to me that the same insects have been around for hundreds of years and can be seen in the same way as they were in the past.

It has some mysterious structure in its belly.
