Blown by the wind

cosmos
  • Cosmos
  • Cosmos is native to Mexico and was brought to Japan during the Edo period. It is written in Japanese as "autumn cherry blossoms" because the color of the flowers is reminiscent of cherry blossoms. The English name "Cosmos" means "harmonious universe" in reference to the way the petals are arranged in a beautifully rounded pattern.

The stems are thin and slender, giving a strong impression of fragility as they sway in the wind, and together with the beautiful flowers that bloom with great effort, they give off a gentle atmosphere. While Cosmos flowers growing in clusters in flower gardens are very beautiful, the arrival of autumn is felt more keenly when I see Cosmos flowers planted along roadsides.
